The Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan are connected not only by good relations since independence, but also by history, culture, experience of living together in the Soviet Union and other important factors.
The Republic of Tajikistan at the time of the intervention of third countries and the beginning of the imposed civil war was a developing country that did not even have a professional army. In such a delicate situation, it was humanitarian and military assistance from far and near countries, including the Republic of Kazakhstan, that allowed us to put an end to this bitter page in our history.
At the same time, it should be noted that the role of peacekeeping forces of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the Republic of Tajikistan, which also included officers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is very huge in establishing peace in our beloved country. In the 1990s, more than 50 Kazakhstani officers gave their lives to ensure security and stability in the Republic of Tajikistan.
A positive feature of the character of our people is that we never forget the good and always stand by each other in difficult times. First of all, it should be noted that by the Decree of the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon from September 30, 2021 Kazakh officer Batrkanov Rajan Armievich has been awarded the highest state award of the Republic of Tajikistan — «Spitamen» of the 1st degree. This is a sign of appreciation of the Kazakh officers for ensuring peace and stability in our country by the highest leadership of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Unfortunately, today the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is one of the most important strategic partners of the Republic of Tajikistan, is in a difficult situation. With the intervention of third countries, terrorists and criminals armed with modern weapons have been destroying the country’s largest cities, including Almaty, for several days.
The situation became increasingly heated, prompting Kazakhstan’s top leadership to seek help from its CSTO allies. In accordance with good Tajik traditions and humane principles, the Leader of the Nation, the respected Emomali Rahmon, supported the collective decision of the allies and initiated the deployment of 200 officers to the Collective Security Treaty Organization peacekeeping force in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Some interested parties and criminal groups misunderstood this initiative and started provocative actions in a number of media, which is regrettable.
It should be noted that the glorious people of Tajikistan will never forget the devastating consequences of the 1990s. The current situation in Kazakhstan threatens ordinary people and they want the military and political situation in their country stabilized as soon as possible. As the saying goes, «A jeweler knows the price of gold». The leader of the nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, esteemed Emomali Rahmon, knows the price of achieving peace and the need for security and stability, and therefore will continue to provide the necessary assistance to our friendly and brotherly state, a strategic partner — the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Everyone should correctly understand that the initiative to send CSTO peacekeepers is a collective one, the sole purpose of which is to ensure the security and tranquility of the peaceful population of Kazakhstan.
